Experiential and Progressive Education Featured in Independent School Magazine

The Meeting School’s distinctive educational philosophy and teaching methods blend Quaker practices with the larger tradition of the progressive education movement. Co-founders George and Helen Bliss took a year-long tour of innovative progressive schools in Europe and the U.S. before starting TMS in 1957; co-founder Joel Hayden was an alum of Deep Springs College and a professor at Antioch College, two progressive flagships in the early 20th century.
